The John Cook School of Business Center for Entrepreneurship recently hosted the third annual Chasing the Sun event where high school students from around the world team to solve problems. Each team presents the next with a set of problems to solve and the receiving team is tasked with developing entrepreneurial business solutions for those problems. Only 12 students from the St. Louis area were invited to participate in this elite event.
(ST. LOUIS – April 28, 2016) – Saint Louis University (SLU) and Logan University have entered into a unique agreement that will allow Logan students to take courses toward earning a SLU business certificate or degree while earning their Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree. The articulation and matriculation agreement is the first of its kind, giving DC students enrolled at Logan the advantage of gaining essential practice management skills from one of the most highly ranked business programs in the country.
ST. LOUIS— A recent technical note in the journal Science continued a debate about the reliability of scientific findings. In essence an open science consortium reported reconfirmation of only about half of the papers published in top psychological journals, however using a different approach another group of scientists found closer to 85% of studies to yield essentially the same as initial results.
The John Cook School of Business accounting department is hosting the Vasquez-Wuller Accounting Lecture Series featuring James Turley, former chairman and CEO of Ernst & Young on Thursday, April 21. The event takes place in the Cook School and begins at 2:30 p.m. with Mr. Turley’s presentation and a networking reception will follow at 3:30 p.m.
The Center for Entrepreneurship at Saint Louis University’s John Cook School of Business announces the finalists for SLU’s nationwide collegiate Pitch and Catch Competition as well as SLU’s High School Angels in the Outfield Competition. The competition is open to all college students around the country and St. Louis area high school students, and encouraged participants to submit a video for the chance to pitch their ideas in front of a panel of experts during a final competition on Sunday, April 24, at the Gateway Grizzly Ballpark.
On Friday, April 1, students, faculty and staff from Saint Louis University's John Cook School of Business shared in the spirit of service at the Lift For Life Gym. The mission of Lift For Life Gym is to offer at-risk St. Louis city children a safe, enriching environment in which to strengthen their bodies, enrich their minds, develop healthy social relationships, and learn to make positive life choices.
