Business Common Body of Knowledge Requirements

Being part of a successful business means understanding your business. The Cook School’s Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) requirement helps students gain an understanding of how the various concentrations of business work together to create an end product.

Business Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) Requirements

Forty four (44) hours in business must be completed through the Cook School by all undergraduate business majors, regardless of the chosen concentration.

Course Options

Accounting: Six hours as follows (3 credit hours each):

Business: Two hours as follows (1 credit hour each):

* All other CBK courses must be completed prior  to taking BIZ 400 & MGT 400 in the last semester of study.

Economics: Nine hours as follows (3 credit hours each):

Finance: Three hours as follows (3 credit hours each):

Information Technology Management: Three hours chosen from the following courses (3 credit hours each):

International Business: Three hours as follows (3 credit hours each):

Marketing: Three hours as follows (3 credit hours each):

Management: Nine hours as follows (3 credit hours each):

* All other CBK courses must be completed prior to taking BIZ 400 & MGT 400 in the last semester of study.

Operations Management: Six hours as follows (3 credit hours each):
