On Thursday, June 4, Seung Kim, Ph.D., director of the Boeing Institute of International Business at Saint Louis University’s John Cook School of Business, was presented with the 2015 International Educator of the Year award by the World Affairs Council of St. Louis.
Boeing Institute of International Business to Welcome Andy Taylor of Enterprise Holdings for Distinguished Guest Lecture
The 2015 Boeing Distinguished Guest Lecture in International Business is pleased to welcome Andy Taylor, the Executive Chairman of Enterprise Holdings, on Tuesday, June 2. The event is presented by the Boeing Institute of International Business in the John Cook School of Business, and will begin at 5 p.m. with a reception to follow. Mr. Taylor will discuss, “The Enterprise Way - Building a Global Culture of Customer Service.”
SLU Center for Entrepreneurship Announces the 2014-2015 Entrepreneurial Alumni Hall of Fame Inductees
April 27, 2015 - The Center for Entrepreneurship at Saint Louis University’s John Cook School of Business presents the 2014-2015 inductees of the Entrepreneurial Alumni Hall of Fame. This year the Center recognizes four female Saint Louis University graduates for their distinguished careers and personification of the Center’s motto “Do Good, Do Well.”
This Saturday, ten Saint Louis University students pitched their business ideas to 15 multi-millionaire judges as part of the Center for Entrepreneurship’s first Pitch & Catch event. The event took place at the GCS Ballpark, home of the Gateway Grizzlies, and began with the Billiken throwing out the “first pitch.” The finalists were driven to the pitcher’s mound in a Tesla Model S with their song of choice playing over the stadium speaker. One of the students made her pitch remotely on the “Diamond Vision” screen since she was at NASA for a rocket launch.
Leadership Matters Series Concludes April 15 with Discussion on Building a Diverse and Skilled Workforce in St. Louis
On Wednesday, April 15 the Emerson Leadership Institute and the John Cook School of Business are proud to present, “Leadership Matters: The St. Louis Confluence on Workforce Inclusion.” The event will bring together thought leaders on workforce diversity to showcase existing initiatives and future plans for equitable economic development in St. Louis, from rebuilding Ferguson to executing workforce development programs for underserved populations throughout the region.
The Center for Entrepreneurship is hosting the Pitch and Catch event on Saturday, April 11 at 9 a.m., where Saint Louis University students will pitch their business idea to investors from the pitcher’s mound at the GCS Ballpark, home of the Gateway Grizzlies. The investors “catching the pitch” at home plate include 10+ multi-millionaires.
Emerson Leadership Institute “Leadership Matters” Event Series Engages Community in Discussion on St. Louis Workforce and Inclusion Programs
The John Cook School of Business Emerson Leadership Institute presents the Leadership Matters series beginning April 1. The events take place the first three Wednesdays in April at the Cook School’s A-B Auditorium, beginning at 5 p.m. with a networking reception followed by presentations and Q&A.
Saint Louis University Graduate Business Students Place Fourth in National Intercollegiate Supply Chain Competition
On February 28, John Cook School of Business MBA and MS-Supply Chain Management students J.D. Schneider, Yan Zheng, Zhimian Lin, Thomas Burke and Bohan Zhang competed and placed fourth in the 2015 JDA Supply Chain Challenge. The competition is an annual intercollegiate challenge requiring students to make data-driven, analytical decisions surrounding forecasting, capacity/inventory management, scheduling and pricing.
Saint Louis University will host Muhamed Sacirbey, Bosnia-Herzegovina’s first ambassador to the United Nations, on Friday, Feb. 27 at 2 p.m. at the Pius XII Memorial Library (3650 Lindell Blvd., St. Louis, MO, 63108). The event is free and open to the public.
