The 12th annual Allsup Entrepreneurship Academy hosted by the John Cook School of Business Center for Entrepreneurship begins Monday, July 25. High school students interested in learning about what it means to be an entrepreneur can meet successful business owners, create and pitch their own business ideas, collaborate on teams and more – are invited to register.
The John Cook School of Business Center for Entrepreneurship recently hosted the third annual Chasing the Sun event where high school students from around the world team to solve problems. Each team presents the next with a set of problems to solve and the receiving team is tasked with developing entrepreneurial business solutions for those problems. Only 12 students from the St. Louis area were invited to participate in this elite event.
The Center for Entrepreneurship at Saint Louis University’s John Cook School of Business announces the finalists for SLU’s nationwide collegiate Pitch and Catch Competition as well as SLU’s High School Angels in the Outfield Competition. The competition is open to all college students around the country and St. Louis area high school students, and encouraged participants to submit a video for the chance to pitch their ideas in front of a panel of experts during a final competition on Sunday, April 24, at the Gateway Grizzly Ballpark.
GlobalHack, a St. Louis-based nonprofit focused on building better tech communities through software competitions, announced today that Saint Louis University will be the location for their first $1 million hackathon. The organization's milestone event - GlobalHack VI - will take place at SLU's Chaifetz Arena from Friday, October 21 to Sunday, October 23, 2016. Saint Louis University's John Cook School of Business serves as GlobalHack VI title sponsor.
January 19, 2015 — Saint Louis University School of Law’s Entrepreneurship and Community Development Clinic (ECD) and the John Cook School of Business and its Habitat for Neighborhood Business program have been awarded grant funding to support a pilot project known as the E Workshop Project. The project will focus legal and business support to neighborhood entrepreneurs in north St. Louis city and county.

Inauguration and Dedication Event Celebrates the Official Launch of SLU’s Emerson Leadership Institute
ST. LOUIS -- The Emerson Leadership Institute at Saint Louis University’s John Cook School of Business hosted the inauguration and dedication of the Emerson Leadership Institute Wednesday, October 7. The event brought together business leaders, educators and students to celebrate the official launch of the Institute and recognize Emerson's ongoing support of Saint Louis University.
On Thursday, Oct. 8, the Boeing Institute of International Business in the John Cook School of Business sponsored the annual Hussmann International Business Awards Ceremony. Three area executives received awards for their efforts to advance international trade in the region. Eight undergraduate students studying international business also received scholarships. The event concluded with a celebratory reception.
Saint Louis University Appoints Beth-Anne Yakubu as Executive Director of the Emerson Leadership Institute in the John Cook School of Business
ST. LOUIS – The John Cook School of Business at Saint Louis University has named Beth-Anne Yakubu executive director of the Emerson Leadership Institute. Yakubu will oversee the development and execution of the Institute’s business model, strategic objectives, and daily operations. In partnership with SLU’s advancement group, she will also focus on building partnerships and raising awareness for the Institute within the St. Louis region and the global business community. Under her direction, the Emerson Leadership Institute is will serve as “hub” for education and training, research, and community engagement on ethical and responsible leadership in business.
