As part of an ongoing collaboration to foster the next generation of business and technology leaders, John Cook School of Business at Saint Louis University is partnering with Deloitte and the SAP® University Alliance for the accounting information systems course.
The John Cook School of Business recently completed construction on a new data analytics lab with a naming gift commitment from Edward Jones. The room will feature 12 Bloomberg terminals, the ability for students to use laptop computers and can be configured for use as a flipped classroom where content is often delivered online outside of the classroom and in classroom time is utilized to expand on those concepts. Students taking finance courses will use the Bloomberg terminals as part of their coursework. Additionally, the lab will be a key component in the FIN 4630 Applied Portfolio Management course and the Master of Science in Applied Finance and Economics (MS-AFE) program.

The John Cook School of Business welcomes guest speaker Ronald Kruszewski, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, Stifel Financial Corp. for the Dean’s Breakfast Series on Thursday, Sept. 8. The Dean’s Breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. with a complimentary networking breakfast, and Mr. Kruszewski’s presentation will begin at 8 a.m. in the Cook School’s A-B Auditorium. Heather Bednarek, Ph.D., has been named the new associate dean of the John Cook School of Business. Bednarek assumed her new role beginning July 1. In addition to her role as associate dean, Dr. Bednarek is an associate professor in economics and previously served as the chair of the department of economics from 2011 to 2016. She has been a faculty member at Saint Louis University for 15 years.
(ST. LOUIS – April 28, 2016) – Saint Louis University (SLU) and Logan University have entered into a unique agreement that will allow Logan students to take courses toward earning a SLU business certificate or degree while earning their Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree. The articulation and matriculation agreement is the first of its kind, giving DC students enrolled at Logan the advantage of gaining essential practice management skills from one of the most highly ranked business programs in the country.
The Cook School Accounting Department Hosts Speaker James Turley, Former Chairman and CEO of Ernst & Young
The John Cook School of Business accounting department is hosting the Vasquez-Wuller Accounting Lecture Series featuring James Turley, former chairman and CEO of Ernst & Young on Thursday, April 21. The event takes place in the Cook School and begins at 2:30 p.m. with Mr. Turley’s presentation and a networking reception will follow at 3:30 p.m.
The John Cook School of Business is hosting a special Dean’s Breakfast presentation with Charlie O’Reilly, Vice Chairman O’Reilly Auto Parts, on Monday, April 11. The event takes place in the Cook School and begins with a complimentary networking breakfast in the atrium at 7:30 a.m. and O’Reilly’s presentation will follow in the A-B Auditorium.
The John Cook School of Business invites you to a special Dean’s Breakfast presentation with Sister Simone Campbell, on Tuesday, February 16. The event takes place in the Cook School and begins with a complimentary networking breakfast in the atrium at 7:30 a.m. and Sr. Campbell’s presentation will follow in the A-B Auditorium. Sr. Campbell is a religious leader, attorney and poet with extensive experience in public policy and advocacy for systemic change. Her presentation will be, “Business, Government and the Common Good: What it takes to create an economy of inclusion.” Sr. Simone led a yearlong project engaging business leaders in various parts of the country. In this presentation, she will reflect on her learnings in light of Pope Francis’ challenge to create an economy of inclusion.
The Business Engagement Board (formerly the John Cook School of Business Alumni Board) is hosting the annual Trivia Night on Saturday, January 23 at 6 p.m. Join alumni, staff, students and friends for this annual event. The net proceeds will support the Cook School scholarship fund. Last year, more than $18,000 was raised.
The John Cook School of Business Hosts Inauguration and Dedication for new Emerson Leadership Institute
