Position Announcement: Dr. Hadi Alhorr
Hadi Alhorr, Ph.D., has been appointed as the director of the Boeing Institute of International Business and chair of the department of international business in the John Cook School of Business at Saint Louis University.
A member of the faculty for over 10 years, he has excelled at teaching, research, and service. In addition to designing and delivering study abroad courses for undergraduate and graduate students, he leads international business classes at the undergraduate, graduate, executive, and doctoral levels. Topics include geopolitics, European business strategy, global business environments, and a global strategic management doctoral seminar.
His research focuses on multinational organization’s global operations in general, with emphasis on how strategic choices at the firm level related to an organization’s structure, pattern and direction change in light of economic, monetary, and political integration at the country level. This trajectory has led to 21 conference presentations plus a publication list that includes 11 peer-reviewed journal articles and proceedings, a textbook on Middle Eastern business environments, five working papers to be submitted to top journals, and two under review. This line of expertise has also led to invitations to consult in other countries, including assisting the Minister of Higher Education and Secretary General in Sri Lanka with operationalizing their higher education strategic initiatives within their public university system, as well as revising the management curriculum.

Fluent in Arabic, French, and English, Dr. Alhorr shares his expertise within Saint Louis University, as well as outside Saint Louis University. He is the current vice president of administration for the Academy of International Business (AIB) and the coordinator of the AIB conference placement services. He is a member of university committees studying issues such as gender equity, strategic enrollment management, and compensation/benefits. Business school commitments include the committee to review and revise the MBA curriculum, the doctoral program steering committee, and several doctoral dissertation committees. He serves as a member of the JCSB executive council and the executive committee of the Saint Louis University Center for Intercultural Studies.
His energy and dedication have earned him numerous recognitions over the years, including selection as the Outstanding Faculty in the Executive Master of International Business program in 2014 and 2016.
Prior to joining Saint Louis University, Dr. Alhorr was on the faculty of Drake University College of Business and worked as Section Sales Manager for Transmediterranean SAL, a division of P&G. He earned his doctoral degree in 2005 from Texas Tech University - Rawls College of Business Administration in strategy and international management, and his MBA in international finance in 2000. His undergraduate education was completed at the American University of Beirut - Suliman Olayan School of Business.View All News
