Dean’s Breakfast Series Presents Charlie O’Reilly, Vice Chairman O’Reilly Auto Parts

The John Cook School of Business is hosting a special Dean’s Breakfast presentation with Charlie O’Reilly, Vice Chairman O’Reilly Auto Parts, on Monday, April 11. The event takes place in the Cook School and begins with a complimentary networking breakfast in the atrium at 7:30 a.m. and O’Reilly’s presentation will follow in the A-B Auditorium.

O’Reilly will present, “The History of O’Reilly Auto Parts,” where he’ll discuss how a small family business became an $8 billion public company operating in 44 states.

About the Speaker

charlie-oreilly-pictures-005Charlie is Vice-Chairman of O’Reilly Auto Parts and has been with the company for 40 years when he retired in 2002.  When he joined the family business, it consisted of one location in Springfield, Missouri.  O’Reilly Automotive, Inc., is now a public company with 4400 locations in 43 states and employs approximately 70,000 team members.  He has been involved with many charitable organizations over the years, serving as Chairman of United Way of the Ozarks, President of the Community Partnership of the Ozarks, and many other charitable organizations.  Charlie is married to Mary Beth, founder of the Breast Cancer Foundation of The Ozarks. They have three children; Pat is a developer in Springfield, MO and Kansas City, Mo.  Tim is an attorney in Springfield, MO and hotel developer.  Ryan is a published author and is President of Westward Alliance Private Equity Company.
