General Paul Selva to Speak at SLU
General Paul J. Selva, Commander of America’s Worldwide Air Mobility Command, will speak at the next Saint Louis University John Cook of Business Dean’s Breakfast Thursday, Nov. 7. The event is free and open to the public, however advance registration is required.
As head of the Air Mobility Command, Selva is responsible for more than 132,000 employees and billions of dollars of equipment. His 24/7 challenge is to assure worldwide passenger and cargo delivery, air refueling and aeromedical evacuation, all without advance notice, under the harshest conditions, absolutely everywhere in the world.The event will begin at 7:30 a.m. with a continental networking breakfast. Selva’s presentation, “Developing a Culture of Innovation to Counter Rising Costs,” will begin promptly at 8 a.m. and will be followed by a question and answer period.
Selva trained as an aeronautical engineer and has earned advanced degrees in management and human relations and in political science. He was selected as a National Defense Fellow and has served as assistant to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon. Selva has logged more than 3,100 hours as a pilot and command pilot in a range of heavy-duty and long-range aircraft.
