Dr. Keithley is Professor Emeritus of Accounting at Saint Louis University. A member of the Saint Louis University faculty since 1968, he has over forty five years of teaching experience. He received numerous teaching awards during his career including the Outstanding Teacher in the John Cook School of Business, the Burlington Northern Teaching Award (a University-wide award for outstanding and innovative teaching), the Outstanding Teaching award in Accounting, and the Outstanding Teaching award in the Executive Masters program in International Business. His primary teaching and research interests are financial reporting, strategic applications of management accounting, social applications of accounting, and business ethics. Dr. Keithley has published in several academic and professional journals. He is a member of the Missouri Society of CPA’s, American Accounting Association, Institute of Management Accountants and other professional and academic organizations. His memberships in honorary academic organizations include Beta Alpha Psi, Beta Gamma Sigma, and Alpha Sigma Nu. Dr. Keithley served as Dean of the School of Business and Administration from 1981 to 1985 and was Director of the Emerson Electric Center for Business Ethics from 1990 to 1993. Dr. Keithley retired from full-time teaching on July 1, 2014 and was promoted to emeritus status. Outside interests include golf, collecting Cape Horn Buffalo artwork, reading (esp. Tolkien related materials), and playing with his grandchildren.
